Pig Pen BBQ is my favorite. I travel around Central Texas every week and nobody beats Pig Pen BBQ. You have to try the brisket! I love the full bar and outside family friendly playscape and entertainment area. owners Bill and Michelle are great people. stop by and say hello, have a drink and enjoy the best central Texas barbecue.

We enjoyed the turkey, pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. Very good flavor. The turkey was a little dry, but the BBQ sauce was delicious. The coleslaw was amazing! I love a good tangy slaw. The green beans were just right in texture and they stayed warm till the end!

We absolutely love this place. The owners and managers are so kind, welcoming, and thoughtful. And the food is amazing. The quesabirria tacos on the weekends are my favorite. But their new pizza that they’re trying out is the best pizza I’ve had. This location also has an amazing play ground. It’s a great place to let our toddler run and play while we enjoy great food with friends!

Stopped here on our road trip after a full day of hiking and throughly enjoyed our time. Thank you to the staff for providing samples of meats and sides before we ordered. The baked potato, ribs, potato salad and charro beans were great!

We had such a great time here! The kids’ area is great with lots of little houses and a playscape that kept them entertained and safe while we sat on the covered porch. The landscaping is really well done, and there’s plenty of seating both indoors and out. They also had football on, which is a big plus for my husband. For food, we ordered the brisket, jalapeño sausage, potato salad, beans, chicken quesadilla, and chicken nuggets. The brisket was excellent, juicy and flavorful without being overly salty like some places. The jalapeño cheddar sausage had just the right kick of spice, which we loved. Everything we tried hit the spot. The best part was being able to sip a rose while the kids played. It’s rare to find a place that keeps everyone in the family happy, but this spot nailed it. We’ll definitely be back!!

Just like their dripping springs location, the Johnson City Pig Pen truly delivers! Super yummy food, phenomenal staff, and beautiful venue. Great for families. We love the Jacob’s plate and the moist brisket. Bill is awesome and has created a really remarkable restaurant here. Norma and the rest of the Johnson City staff are always so helpful and welcoming. We love it!

I don't have enough good things to say about this new location of Pig Pen BBQ. The original in Dripping Springs is a family favorite of ours, and the food is DELICIOUS. This location really brings together the fact that BBQ is a family affair. There is a huge playscape area for the kiddos to play, a bar to keep the adults indulged, and plenty of delicious vittles to satisfy anyone's tastes. We ordered the Brisket (burnt ends and moist pieces), Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage, Piggy Tails (which we ate most of prior to my photo, sorry), Baked Potato Salad, and Barbacoa Taco. The brisket was absolutely the pieces we ordered, some delicious and toasty burnt ends and delightfully moist and flavorful cuts... the rub is ever so slightly sweet and filled with flavor. The piggy tails are a must have... delightfully spiced and candied bacon (can you blame us for eating most of them before taking a picture?). The Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage has a delectable bite from the casing and it's not overly spicy.. it has the flavor of Jalapeno which is great! The Baked potato salad is one of our absolute favorite sides... it reminds me of what grandma would cook for a homestyle BBQ... the kind of food that sticks to your bones. It's just so good, definitely try it! I also enjoyed a frozen Jack Daniels... and on this hot day, I can't even describe to you how delightful that was! The classic Jack Daniels and coke flavor in a slushy and who doesn't like a slushy?! Seriously, you need to go. Take your whole family. Take your friends! Go get a taste of some delicious Texas BBQ!
